Rescue 101

Bare Basics of Rescue - do you really want to get into rescue? The pitfalls, the questions that you should ask yourself first.

Adoption

Adoption Class - notes to the list on adoption contracts, requirements, experiences, etc. 7/99 Adoption Class includes questions asked, how verified, rechecks, inspections, how adoptors and rescues connect, filing fees, etc. Screening and rejecting prospective adoptors how rescues turn down prospective adoptors and some questions to ask to help screen. Charging a fee to return a horse - should rescues charge a fee if a horse is returned to the rescue?

Dog Rescue List Class Archives They have archives up on the classes: Introduction to Rescue, Forms, Paperwork & Legal Questions, Legal Considerations, Screening - Dogs & Adoptors, Getting Along, Promotion and Publicity, etc. Although it isn't equine rescue, I've found a lot of the comments and information given by folks on the dog rescue list to be quite interesting and useful and to apply to ALL types of rescue.
