Equine Rescue News (eqresqnews@yahoogroups.com) is moderated list for listings of equines available for adoption/placement; announcements of fundraising activities for rescues, lost/stolen equine announcements, natural disaster instructions, etc. Equine Rescue News is moderated - anyone may post to it, but the messages posted must fit the categories above & the guidelines below. Submission Guidelines
Post your message to eqresqnews@yahoogroups.com. Any attachments will be stripped out so don't bother sending files. You may upload them to the file area or the photo area if you are a subscriber who is registered with YahooGroups or upload them to your own website and provide the url.
Include your full name, the name of your rescue organization if applicable and your location (state or province is fine).
Keep your information brief and to the point - this isn't the place to get into extensive personal details about yourself or your personal situation. Check out old posts to get some idea of acceptable formats and lengths if you're confused or not sure what's appropriate.
Due to privacy issues, third party material (where one person passes it on for another) will generally not be accepted . The originating party should submit it to eqresqnews@yahoogroups.com. Unfortunately I have run into problems with incomplete information or people who have no idea that their name, email address and often phone number were being passed along in this manner. Posts are publicly archived so ANYONE can get phone numbers, etc), so that is why this is the policy.
Horse wanted messages will NOT be posted to Equine Rescue News as there are a number of pages with rescue links and those wanting a rescue horse can easily locate the rescues in their area and submit any necessary applications to them.
Please note that you retain the copyright, however, the material submitted may appear on the Equine Rescue News & Resources Home Page and/or discussion list as well as on Equine Rescue News.
This is not a classified service, so if you are not a rescue and you are selling a horse or horses for what they are going for in your area as you would in local livestock papers or your local newspaper, please use a more appropriate venue. YahooGroups has a number of horse sales lists available if you are seeking a wider audience than you can find locally. See: http://groups.yahoo.com and do a search for horse sales.
